“I completed my lower secondary studies up to grade 9 from my home land (Th.Thimarafushi) school Th.Atoll education center. I have been one of the brightest students of the school and was a senior prefect. During my last year of secondary (grade 10) I started losing focus on my studies and no matter how hard I tried I just couldn’t focus. Few months later I shifted to India and completed my secondary education. I did SSLC instead of GCE O level.

After I completed my secondary education, My mind was blown away of the fact that the Maldivian education system was no longer approving SSLC certificates.

I turned to do GCE O level as a private individual. I failed from my first attempt to pass in 2013 but luckily I passed with flying colors in 2014. These were the most difficult days of my life. My family was mocked on my educational background.

People forgot that the proof of education is not a certificate but the character and the behavior of the person. I knew I am the only one who can change my life and not someone else. It does not matter how slow you go as long as you don’t stop. Now I have completed my Certificate level 3 In I.T, Level 4 Advanced Certificate in Business Management and currently doing Associates Degree in Accounting. Challenges are what makes life interesting and overcoming them is what makes it meaningful. “

Testimonial

  • MAPS College has provided me with more than just an excellent education.  The campus and classrooms are exceptional (the best of its kind I have seen in Maldives) and the lecturers are not just learned, but warm, supportive and intuitive to individual student’s needs.  And it’s not all just studying too; MAPS College organizes and participates in various fun competitions and events for their students. Studying at MAPS College has been a tremendously engaging, challenging and constructively positive experience.

Join MAPS College throughout the year: February and March intakes now open for applications

Thanks to our student-orientated course delivery model, students can join many courses at MAPS College throughout the year.

Highlights of our February and March intake include courses that are ideal for those who have recently completed their O’ Levels (MAPS Level 4 Advanced Certificate in Business Administration, Tourism Management and Information Technology), or those who have completed their A’ Levels (MAPS Associate’s degrees in Business Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Accounting and Information Technology).

Following our very successful January 2018 intake, places are available for students commencing in February and March on the following courses at MAPS College:

Master’s Degree (MNQF Level 9) Courses

Associate’s Degree (MNQF Level 6) courses – *available in Block Mode only

Advanced Certificate (MNQF Level 4) Courses (February and March)

Certificate (MNQF Level 1,2 and 3) Courses (February and March)

Block Mode Courses: these courses give working students more flexibility in attending classes. Instead of attending classes every day, students who are studying under the ‘Block Mode’ will only attend classes a few days a week or month, or during the weekends, depending on their chosen course. Weekends blocks enable those students who are working in resorts and living in islands near to Male’ to attend classes without difficulty.
