Course Description
CTH Level 3 Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality  is aimed at those who wish to gain access to the first year of a relevant university degree or the CTH Level 4 Diploma in Tourism Management programmes. It is also a free-standing qualification for those who wish to enter the hospitality and tourism industries at team member level. This is a 1200 Guided Learning Hour programme where students are required to demonstrate interpersonal, self study and research and presentation skills throughout the qualification. Assessments are developed to encourage these skills that will provide students with a very strong foundation for further studies in hospitality and tourism sectors.

Certificate for this course will be awarded by the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH).

Academic Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of following minimum entry requirements:

  • 3 O’ Level passes (C or above) including SSC or equivalent
  • MNQF Level 3 Qualification (related field)
  • 18 years old AND 1 year work experience AND ability to communicate in English language

Course Structure
Compulsory Subjects:

  • Essentials of Human Resources and Business Computing in Tourism and Hospitality
  • Essentials of Marketing and Customer Relationships in Tourism and Hospitality
  • Tourism and Hospitality Industry
  • Essentials of Tourism and Hospitality Operations

There are no optional subjects.

Duration: One Year (2 semester).

Intakes: January, June and September (only Block Mode intake).

Course Assessments
Assessments are set and marked externally by CTH and constitute a combination of written assignments, time constrained examinations and class room presentations.

Successful graduates may apply to gain entry to CTH Level 4 Diploma in Tourism Management or alternatively enter at the first year of a university degree in Hospitality and Tourism. The following image shows the pathway.
