Course Description
The CTH Level 7 Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management  aims to provide a qualification that focuses on the interrelationship between the hospitality and tourism sector that focuses on strategic issues in business development, rather than operational issues with an effective academic progression route for hospitality and tourism graduate to provide an effective academic progression route for non-graduate, but experienced, hospitality and tourism managers.

Academic Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum entry requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree at MNQF level 7 (related field)
  • 25 years old, completion of MNQF Level 5 Qualification (related field) AND 6 years of work experience in relevant field (of which 3.5 years of experience is obtained after completion of MNQF Level 5 qualification AND 5 years of experience at managerial level)
  • 25 years old, completion of MNQF Level 6 Qualification (related field) AND 6 years of work experience in relevant field (of which 2 years of experience is obtained after completion of MNQF Level 6 qualification AND 5 years of experience at managerial level) AND achieved a pass rating from an interview or exam given by the institute

Minimum Proficiency in English (one of the following):

  • a score of 6.0 or better on the IELTS;
  • an approved equivalent qualification

Course Structure
Compulsory Subjects:

» Hospitality and Tourism Marketing Strategies
­» Management and Leadership Across Cultures
­» Hospitality and Tourism Strategic Planning 

Plus one Optional Subject from the following:

» Managing Hospitality and Tourism Projects
­» Research Methods for Hospitality and Tourism Managers    

Duration: 12 months (2 Semesters).

Intakes: January, June, September.

Course Assessments
All Modules will be assessed by combinations of Written Reports, Presentations, Discussion Papers, and Essay guided from CTH.

Pathway:
Successful graduates may apply to gain entry to a number of University Masters Programmes at BPP University, Edge Hill University, University of Sunderland, London South Bank University, Thames Valley University and Anglia Ruskin University.
