This certificate is one of the three individual subject’s certificates offered by ACCA under its Foundations in Accountancy suite of awards. This is suitable for anyone working or wanting to specialize in Taxation, including school leavers or those already working in accounts-support roles. The ability level is broadly equivalent to exams in the first year of a degree/HND.
The subjects/units studied in this course forms part of the subjects/units of the ACCA Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) course, which is also included within the ACCA Foundation in Accountancy suite of awards.
MAPS College will begin to offer this course on MAPS Fast Track from September 2011 onwards as a standalone course.
Certificate for this course will be awarded by the the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Level 1 Certificate (view Approval)
ACCA does not require any previous academic qualifications to study for this certificate. However to get the Certificate recognized under MNQF one of the following entry requirements must be achieved:
» 3 O Level passes (C or above) including SSC or equivalent
» O Level pass in Accounting (C or above) or equivalent pass in Accounting and 1 year work experience in the accounting field
» A Level pass in Accounting (E or above)
» Foundations in Professionalism (Online module that needs to be completed once. More)
» Foundations in Taxation (FTX)
There are no Optional Subjects.
Duration: 1 month on the MAPS Fast Track
Intakes: Every month (from September 2011)
All subjects will be assessed by time constrained paper based exams set and marked by ACCA, UK. These exams will be conducted and invigilated by the Department of Public Examinations (DPE).
