In line with the increased demand for a more skilled workforce in the Maldivian tourism industry, hospitality management training has become a necessity at the national level. The Faculty of Tourism Studies imparts both knowledge and skills training in the key areas of hospitality management such as front office, housekeeping, food and beverages and general management.

The courses aim to train and retain the necessary human capital much needed for the booming tourism industry in the Maldives, thus complementing national human resource development policies. The courses offered by the Faculty are designed according to regional and international tourism sector services standards – standards that are recognized the world over.

This Faculty at present includes the Department of Hospitality Management only.

This Faculty is currently affiliated with the Association of Business Executive (ABE) of the UK and Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH), UK.  The Faculty is also actively seeking further affiliations to broaden its course offerings.
