Course Description
The qualification provides learners with the knowledge and skills required for starting or progressing through a successful career in Accounting. MAPS Advanced Certificate in Accounting incorporates the ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 2) and ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 3) within the overall qualification structure, meaning students who achieve the full qualification receive the MAPS Certificate, as well as ACCA Certificates.

The qualification also enables learners to progress onto undergraduate degree level qualifications (MNQF Level 7) in business or Accounting related areas, and onto higher level ACCA courses.

Awarding Body
The certificate for this course will be awarded by MAPS College. Additional certificates covering the ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 2) and ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 3) will be awarded by ACCA.

Academic Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following minimum entry requirements:

  • 3 O’ Level passes (C or above) including SSC or equivalent
  • MNQF Level 3 Qualification
  • 18 years old AND 1 year work experience AND ability to communicate in English language

Credits: 120 credits

Mode of Study: Face to Face (Male’ Campus)

Course Assessments
The ACCA units are assessed through time constrained online computer based exams that are set and marked by ACCA, UK, and conducted and invigilated by MAPS College. The two optional units are assessed by time constrained written examinations. Some optional units also include assignments and presentations.

Pathway
Students who complete the MAPS Advanced Certificate in Accounting may use it as a standalone professional qualification or progress onto the MAPS Diploma in Accounting and Business, Associate Degree in Accounting and Business or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Business. Students may also join any other business-related Bachelors degree at MAPS College, one of the ABE Level 4 Diploma qualifications, or continue to study for the full ACCA qualification.
