Course Description
MAPS Advanced Certificate in Business Administration and Tourism Management qualification provides learners with the knowledge and skills required for starting or progressing through a successful career within the tourism or hospitality sector in administrative and management positions.

Because the course includes dual coverage of tourism management and business administration, it also provides a solid foundation for students planning a career in a range of wider business-related fields.

The qualification also enables learners to progress onto undergraduate degree level qualifications (MNQF Level 7) in business or tourism management related areas.

Academic Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following minimum entry requirements:

  • 3 O’ Level passes (C or above) including SSC or equivalent
  • MNQF Level 3 Qualification
  • 18 years old AND 1 year work experience AND ability to communicate in English language

  • Four Mandatory Units
    • Unit 3 Academic English
    • Unit 4 Business Mathematics
    • Unit 5 Principles of Management
    • Unit 6 The Business Environment
  • Two optional business units
    • Unit 7 Optional Business Unit
    • Unit 8 Optional Business Unit

Duration: 1 academic year

Credits: 120 credits

Intakes: January, August.

Mode of Study: Face to Face (Male’ Campus)

Course Assessments
All subjects will be assessed by time constrained written examinations. Some subjects will also include assignments and presentations.

Pathway
Students who complete the MAPS Advanced Certificate in Business Administration and Tourism  Management may use it as a standalone professional qualification or progress onto the MAPS Diploma in Tourism Management, Associate Degree in Tourism Management or Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism Management.

Students may also join any other business-related Bachelors degree at MAPS College, or one of the ABE Level 4 Diploma qualifications.
