Course Description
MAPS Bachelor of Accounting and Business qualification provides learners with a broad understanding of Accounting concepts and selected business functions. It also promotes the development of essential workplace skills demanded by employers. The qualification is suitable for individuals already in work or looking to start their career in a range of accounting job roles, and supports progression to management level roles on completion.
The qualification is unique to the Maldives in that it directly incorporates the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4) and the ACCA Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business within its content. That means students will receive the MAPS College Bachelor of Accounting and Business AND the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4), AND the ACCA Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business on completion of specific units.
Awarding Body
The Bachelor of Accounting and Business certificate for this course is awarded by MAPS College. The ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4) and the Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business are awarded by Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
MNQF Level
Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree (view Approval- MAPS Degree), Level 5 Diploma (View Approval – ACCA Diploma), Level 6 Advanced Diploma (View Approval – ACCA Advanced Diploma).
Academic Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following minimum entry requirements:
- 2 A’ Level passes (E or above)
- 2 HSSC passes (C or above)
- MNQF Level 4 Qualification in a related field
- MNQF Level 4 Qualification in an unrelated field, AND successful completion of an MQA approved University Preparation Program
- 20 years old AND completion of the 10th year of School AND 2 years of work experience in a relevant field, AND successful completion of an MQA approved University Preparation Program

Course Assessments
The nine Accounting units are assessed by time constrained online computer based exams that are set and marked by ACCA, UK. The exams are conducted and invigilated by MAPS College. The six optional units are assessed by time constrained written examinations. Some optional subjects also include assignments and presentations.

Pathway
Students who complete the MAPS Bachelor of Accounting and Business may use it as a standalone qualification or apply to progress onto a range of local and international post-graduate qualifications, such as the University of Bedfordshire MBA.
