Course Description
This is an exclusive Bachelors Honours Degree offered to ACCA students through a unique and innovative collaboration between ACCA and Oxford Brookes University Business School. ACCA Students can obtain this degree while working towards achieving their ACCA Qualification without doubling their workload.
This degree aims to enhance and extend the knowledge and skills gained by ACCA students in their professional studies, and to improve their effectiveness as professional accountancy students and future finance professionals.
This is a 3600 Learning Hours course and the degree is therefore a full honours degree and is equivalent to all other Oxford Brookes University Bachelors honours degrees. This degree will be directly awarded by the Oxford Brookes University.

Academic Requirements
Applicants must completed ONE of the academic requirements from either of the following routes to be accepted into the course:
ACCA Foundations in Accountancy (FIA) Route:
» Completed ACCA Introductory Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting
» Completed ACCA Intermediate Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting
» 3 O Level passes (C or above) including SSC or equivalent
» O Level pass in Accounting (C or above) or equivalent pass in Accounting and 1 year work experience in the accounting field
» A Level pass in Accounting (E or above)
» MNQF Level 4 qualification
ACCA Qualification Route:
» Two A Levels plus three GCSEs (grade C or above) or their equivalents in five separate subjects including Maths and English.

» ACCA: Foundations in Professionalism (Online module that needs to be completed once. More)
» ACCA: Accountant in Business (FAB)
» ACCA: Management Accounting (FMA)
» ACCA: Financial Accounting (FFA)
» ACCA: Corporate and Business Law (F4)
» ACCA: Performance Management (F5)
» ACCA: Taxation (F6)
» ACCA: Financial Reporting (F7)
» ACCA: Audit and Assurance (F8)
» ACCA: Financial Management (F9)
» OBU: Research and Analysis Project (RAP)
There are no Optional Subjects.
Duration: 24 months (4 Semesters)
Intakes: January and June
Course Assessments
All subjects, except OBU: Research and Analysis Project (RAP), will be assessed by time constrained written exams that are set and marked by ACCA, UK. The RAP is research based assignment that would be submitted and marked by Oxford Brookes University.
Exemptions
A complete list of exemptions awarded by ACCA for prior learning are listed in the ACCA website. In general students will receive the following two exemptions:
» Students who have completed the ACCA FIA Diploma in Accounting and Business or ACCA Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) course will receive exemptions for the first three papers (FAB, FMA and FFA) from the above list.
» Students who have completed the ACCA Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business will receive exemptions for papers F4, F5, F6, F7, F8 and F9 from the above list.

Pathway
While completing the Oxford Brookes University BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting students can continue to work through to the Professional Level of the ACCA Qualification.
