Course Description
This course is part of the ACCA Foundations in Accountancy suite of awards. It is suitable for anyone looking to do an introductory qualification in accounting and finance. This includes school leavers or those already working in accounts-support roles. The ability level is broadly equivalent to GCSE / O’ Level.

On completion, students can progress onto the ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 3) and then onto the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4).

Certificate for this course will be awarded by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Please note this qualification was previously know as ACCA Introductory Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting.

Academic Requirements
ACCA does not require any previous academic qualifications to study for this certificate. However to get the Certificate recognized under MNQF one of the following entry requirements (subject to MQA approval) is necessary:

  • Completion of the 6th year of School
  • MNQF Level 2 Qualification
  • 18 years old AND ability to communicate in English language

Course Structure
Compulsory Subjects:

  • Foundations in Professionalism (Online module that needs to be completed once. More)
  • Recording Financial Transactions (FA1)
  • Management Information (MA1)

There are no Optional Subjects.

Duration: 3 months

Intakes: February, June, August, November

Mode of Study: Face to Face (Male’ Campus only)

Course Assessments
All subjects will be assessed by time constrained online computer based exams that are set and marked by ACCA, UK. The exams will be conducted and invigilated by MAPS College.

Pathway
Students who achieve the ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 2) may use it as a standalone qualification which would allow them to work in a variety of accounts-support roles in small to medium size organizations. Alternatively, students can continue to work through to the ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 3) followed by the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business.
