Course Description
The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) provides students with knowledge and skills in a variety of business areas and covers a range of topics. This programme prepares students for current and future leadership roles by helping them to develop analytical, decision-making, interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills. The graduates of BBA may find employment within a number of business-related fields, including accounting, banking, economics, finance, importing and exporting, industrial relations, and marketing or human resource management. Graduates may even elect to be self-employed and run their own businesses.

The Bachelor of Business Administration also provides a solid foundation from which students can pursue postgraduate studies in a range of business management disciplines.

This qualification is awarded by the Australian Institute of Business.

Academic Requirements
Applicant must meet one of the following minimum entry requirements:

  • ABE Level 6 qualification
  • MAPS Associate’s Degree in a business related subject
  • Pearson Edexcel HND in a business related subject

Minimum Proficiency in English
Where the applicant’s medium of instruction (at a tertiary level) was not English, the applicant must have obtained:

  • a score of 550 or better on the TOEFL; or
  • a score of 6.0 or better on the IELTS; or
  • a credit or better in English in the GCE “O” or “A” levels or equivalent.

Duration:
BBA top-up students can complete the programme within up to 12 months excluding the month of Ramadan each year.

Intakes: Throughout the year depending on the modules required to be undertaken – no modules offered during Ramadan.

Course Assessment
The assessment for each subject (except for the Project (Planning) and Project) in the BBA is as follows:

  • One examination (worth 75%);
  • One assignment (worth 25%).

Students cannot pass the subject if they do not pass the exam.

Pathway
Students who complete the AIB’s BBA course may use it as a standalone professional qualification or progress on to a Master’s degree programme.
