As a practicing or aspiring accountant, you will likely already have heard of ACCA. They are one of the most globally recognised accountancy professional body and providers of accountancy qualifications, accepted worldwide as a major indicator of accountancy knowledge and competency, and in many places a pre-requisite for senior accountancy job roles.

The value of holding ACCA qualifications is well known, and students wishing to study accountancy can choose to join the ACCA qualifications directly at MAPS College.

Prospective students should also look at the option of enrolling onto the MAPS College Accounting and Business suite of qualifications, which offers a number of advantages over studying the ACCA programme as a stand-alone course.

Benefits of Dual Accreditation

Our Accounting and Business qualifications include a small number of business-related units, combined with the ACCA qualifications. On completion of our Bachelor of Accounting and Business for example, students will receive both a Bachelors degree from MAPS College, the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4), AND the ACCA Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business (Applied Skills).

What’s more, because the ACCA qualification is embedded directly within our Bachelors degree, students are eligible for government funding to cover two-thirds of the course costs through the Government’s First Degree Scheme.

The innovative nature of our programme in embedding the ACCA qualifications, rather than developing exemptions for the ACCA units, also directly benefits students. Instead of having to apply for exemptions on completion of the programme, students will have automatically completed the ACCA qualifications directly within the MAPS suite of programmes.

Including a small number of business-related subject areas also helps students show prospective employers that they have an awareness of the business world beyond accounting as well, with students able to choose from a wide range of units covering business administration, HR, marketing, and other business-related topic areas.
