MAPS College students, staff and family members joined together to celebrate the achievements of its 2017 graduating cohort at Dharubaaruge, Male’, this week.
Over 300 people attended the event, as our students received confirmation of their graduation in the College’s Certificate and Diploma courses, and the completion of international qualifications awarded by the Association of Business Executives (ABE), Pearson-Edexcel, and the Australian Institute of Business (AIB).
Graduates included completing students from the prestigious Australian Institute of Business Bachelor degree and MBA programmes. Several students received Academic Awards, with the highlight of the evening being the awarding of the AIB MBA Valedictorian prize to Mariyam Hudha. The AIB MBA Valedictorian award is presented to the completed student who has received the highest GPA on the AIB MBA at their Teaching Centre (TC) since the TC’s last graduation ceremony.
The Chief Guest at the Ceremony was the Ambassador of Pakistan to Republic of Maldives, his Excellency Vice Admiral (Retired) Syed Khawar Ali Shah. His Excellency presented the Academic Achievement awards to the MAPS College graduates, and delivered the keynote address during the ceremony.
During his speech, Abdul Azeez Ibrahim, Deputy Rector of MAPS College, noted that “This is a great occasion for our graduating students, and for MAPS College. Through hard work and dedication these students have achieved milestones in their individual lives. We hope to see these achievements lead to great success for our graduates, and to see our students continue to play a role in shaping, and enhancing Maldivian society.”
The ceremony ended with a speech from Mariyam Hudha, the AIB MBA Valedictorian, who spoke of the friendships made throughout her course and her vision of an exciting future for MAPS College Graduates.
