MAPS College students have introduced a series of programs aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of the youth.

“Hissaa – Tharaggeege Dhanmaru Zuvaanunna” program was launched by Minister of Youth and Sports Ms. Iruthisham Adam at a special ceremony held yesterday at Dharubaaruge.  

Member of the Advisory committee to the President on Youth and Sports and Member of Parliament, Maafannu South, Mr. Abdulla Rifau, dignitaries from various government and private offices and senior officials from MAPS College attended the launching ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Iruthisham highlighted that this is the first time a private college in the Maldives initiated such a program and acknowledged the efforts taken by the students of MAPS College. She assured that the Youth Ministry will give its full support to the program.

The President of the Youth leaders Network Mr. Hassan Farhan Mohamed, who is amongst the students who are organizing ‘Hissa’  program said 10 sessions consisting of lectures, workshops and field visits will be carried out in this program series.

The first session was conducted yesterday after the launching ceremony. The session focused on the importance of exercising and a healthy lifestyle, which was facilitated by Mr. Abdul Razzaq Ibrahim, Managing Director of Sports Corporation and Former Secretary General of Maldives Red Crescent and a veteran in sports and athletics field.
