Course Description
Certified Islamic Banker (CIB) qualification is aimed at students and professionals who plans career in Sharia’a compliant finance, trade, investment and insurance, as well as individuals who want to know more about Islamic finance for general interest or because they want to move into this industry. CIB qualification is jobs-focused and will require candidates to demonstrate a practical understanding of Islamic finance. CIB qualification provides the international benchmark in the area of Islamic finance.
Awarding Body
The CIB qualification is developed by BIMS Global and the certificate for this course will be awarded by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).

Academic Requirements
Applicants with any of the following minimum qualifications are eligible to register for the Certified Islamic Banker (CIB) qualification:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent international qualification.
- ACCA Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business.
- ABE Level 6 Diploma
Course Structure
Compulsory Subjects:
Module 1: Islamic Finance: Theories and Principles
Module 2: Financial Intermediation and Financial Markets
Module 3: Risk Management by Islamic Banks
Module 4: Governance Issues in Islamic Banking
There are no Optional Subjects.
Duration: 20 weeks
Intakes: January and throughout the year
Course Assessments
All modules will be assessed by time constrained online computer based exams set and assessed by BIMS Global.
