MAPS College is pleased to announce the launch of three new MBA qualifications in the Maldives, awarded by the University of Bedfordshire and accredited by the Maldives Qualification Authority. The three programmes will commence delivery in late-September 2017, and include the University of Bedfordshire’s general MBA, MBA specialising in Finance, and MBA specialising in Hospital and Health Services Management.

The new qualifications, designed and awarded by the University of Bedfordshire (UK), are delivered in full in the Maldives by MAPS College’s highly qualified academic team, and can be completed in just 12 months.

The partnership between MAPS College and the University of Bedfordshire continues to grow with the three new MBAs. MAPS College already delivers the University of Bedfordshire’s Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Accounting, with the MBAs providing a direct progression route for students who have completed the Bachelor’s degrees at the College or elsewhere.

Commenting on the new courses, Alan Murphy, Director of International Partnerships at the University of Bedfordshire noted that “We are delighted to extend our successful partnership with MAPS College. The specialized MBAs are some of the University’s flagship programmes, and have proved to be popular with students and employers in the UK. It’s great news that we are now able to offer exactly the same programme to students in the Maldives through MAPS College. The courses have been designed to provide leaders and managers with the hands-on, practice-based learning experiences that employers are seeking. And our rigorous quality assurance processes are designed to ensure all our students receive the same high quality learning experiences, wherever our programmes are delivered.”

Speaking at the MBA launch event, Mr Abdul Azeez Ibrahim, Deputy Rector at MAPS College, noted that many students have been requesting high-quality specialised MBAs from MAPS College, and that the launch of the MBAs was a culmination of discussions and preparation activities over the past 12 months.

Ms. Fathimath Rasheed, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at MAPS College, noted that the new MBA courses are specially designed to be delivered using an innovative ‘flipped classroom’ approach, which ensures students are able to make maximum use of their valuable time spent in classes, and provides a highly practical learning experience.

Students who already hold a Bachelor’s degree can apply immediately to join the September intake at MAPS College, with the closing date for applications being the 15 September.
